On-Demand Webinar: Managing Managed Care

Recorded On: 11/18/2021

  • Registration Closed

Managed Care insurers continue to find new reasons to deny payments to long-term care providers. SNFs are seeing reduced reimbursement year-over-year with commercial insurers managing Medicare and Medicaid programs. Currently, Managed Care has consumed 30% of the Medicare population and is anticipated to grow exponentially through 2030.

During this 60-minute webinar, AAPACN Master Teacher and Board Member, Maureen McCarthy, RN, BS RAC-MT, QCP-MT, DNS-MT, RAC-MTA, will provide key strategies to manage Managed Care. Nurse leaders will gain insight into where to look for information that will help to verify the reasons for payment denials and how to identify regulatory language to assist in fighting denials.

After participating in this session, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the difference between Medicare and Managed Care
  • Understand how to recognize payment denials for unfounded CMS regulations
  • Implement a robust medical review process
  • Assign responsibilities to team members involved in the medical record review process

1.0 contact hour will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity. Learners must view at least 80% of the entire video and complete the associated evaluation to receive the contact hours. No partial credit will be awarded. Contact hours will be awarded for this activity until November 18, 2024.
