Upon completion of MDS 3.0 Coding for OBRA and PPS, Part 2, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe the relationship between the purpose of the MDS and the types of questions that appear on the MDS
  • State the intent of select MDS items
  • Accurately code select items of the MDS
  • Discuss the relationship of accurate MDS coding to ensuring quality care, appropriate reimbursement, accurate publicly reported information, and survey compliance

4.75 contact hours will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity. Learners must complete the entire education activity and associated evaluation to receive the contact hours. No partial credit will be awarded. Contact hours will be awarded for this activity until November 28, 2026.
