RAC-CT Course - The Five-Star Quality Rating System

Upon completion of The Five-Star Quality Rating System, the learner will be able to:

  • Review the role of Quality Measures (QMs) in the Five-Star Quality Rating System.
  • Explain how the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) schizophrenia audit can impact the QM star ratings.
  • Describe the methodology used to calculate the overall Five-Star QM.
  • Detail how to institute quality assurance activities proactively to assist in enhancing the Five-Star rating.

The course was written by Jane Belt, MS, RN, RAC-CT, RAC-CTA and Jessie McGill, RN, BSN, RAC-MT, RAC-MTA.

3.5 contact hours will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity. Learners must complete the entire education activity and complete the associated evaluation to receive the contact hours. No partial credit will be awarded. Contact hours will be awarded for this activity until October 2, 2026.
