On-Demand Webinar: A Pressure Injury Review – Is the Medical Record Complete?

Recorded On: 05/26/2022

Pressure injuries cost operators millions of dollars every year in adverse survey outcomes and litigation, not to mention the effects on the residents themselves.

During this webinar, AAPACN Curriculum Development Specialist, Denise Winzeler, BSN, RN, LNHA, DNS-MT, QCP-MT, will discuss how to review and update the medical record when a resident acquires a pressure injury in the facility. Nurse leaders will also learn ways to analyze the facility’s skin integrity system and implement improvements to mitigate risk of acquiring further avoidable pressure injuries.

After participating in this session, learners will be able to:

  • Apply steps to conduct a thorough review of the medical record when a resident acquires a pressure injury
  • Examine areas of the medical record to determine if the standard of care was followed pre- and post-pressure injury
  • Implement improvements to mitigate risks of pressure injuries
