The resident population in long-term and post-acute care environments is growing more diverse. Nurse leaders play a pivotal role in leading a workforce that has the cultural competence to care for this diverse resident population. During this 60-minute webinar, join AAPACN Curriculum Development Specialist, Lauren Stenson, MSN, RN, CNDLTC, QCP, DNS-CT, to discuss the importance and benefits of cultural competence, challenges and barriers that exist, and strategies to foster cultural competence and diversity awareness among the nursing team, leading to enhanced resident care outcomes. 

After participating in this session, learners will be able to:

• Understand the significance of cultural competence and its impact on resident care outcomes

• Utilize strategies to implement and promote cultural diversity in a healthcare setting

• Implement best practices for creating an inclusive environment for residents and staff

1.0 contact hour will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity. Learners must view at least 80% of the entire video and complete the associated evaluation to receive the contact hours. No partial credit will be awarded. Contact hours will be awarded for this activity until November 21, 2027.
