On-Demand Webinar: Keep QMs Hot During the Five-Star Freeze

In addition to the substantial MDS changes that occurred Oct. 1, 2023, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) also recently issued several changes to the MDS 3.0 Quality Measures (QMs) and the Five-Star Quality Rating System. During this 60-minute webinar, AAPACN Curriculum Development Specialist, Jessie McGill, RN, BSN, RAC-MT, RAC-MTA, will delineate the changes to the MDS 3.0 QMs, discuss the timeline of the Five-Star freeze, and explain how nurse assessment coordinators and interdisciplinary teams can continue to monitor quality outcomes.

After participating in this session, learners will be able to:

• Recognize how the RAI User’s Manual version 1.18.11 update impacts various MDS 3.0 QMs, effective Oct. 1, 2023
• Identify which QMs are impacted by the Five-Star freeze and when the freeze will be lifted for each measure
• Construct a plan to monitor updated and new QMs during the freeze

1.0 contact hour will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity. Learners must view at least 80% of the entire video and complete the associated evaluation to receive the contact hours. No partial credit will be awarded. Contact hours will be awarded for this activity until December 13, 2026.
