On-Demand Webinar: Medical Directors Don’t Bite!

The medical director role can sometimes be an enigma for the director of nursing services (DNS). Because of this, the DNS often hesitates to communicate with the medical director about needed expectations, deliverables, and benchmarks, which can lead to quality and regulatory issues. During this 60-minute webinar, AAPACN Chief Nursing Officer, Amy Stewart, MSN, RN, DNS-MT, QCP-MT, RAC-MT, will ask Dr. Arif Nazir, M.D., Chief Medical Officer for Abode Care Partners, some challenging questions about the relationship between the DNS and the medical director and discuss common pain points. The speakers will also cover how these two roles can work together to facilitate teamwork and improve quality outcomes and processes.    After participating in this session, learners will be able to:

• Understand the role of the medical director
• Learn how to cultivate a positive relationship with the medical director
• Know what education medical directors need from clinical leadership and how to ensure buy-in
• Recognize ways the medical director can help influence quality and teamwork

1.0 contact hour will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity.
