On-Demand Webinar: Physician Certifications: Building Blocks for Success

Recorded On: 08/10/2022

  • Registration Closed

Physician certifications are a vital piece of the Medicare Part A billing puzzle. Without them, you cannot bill Medicare for a skilled nursing facility (SNF) stay. Physician certifications will likely become a key focus in medical reviews as missing delayed certifications, inadequate certifications, and missing certifications were noted in the top 10 root causes of improper payments per the 2021 Medicare Fee-for-Service Supplemental Improper Payment report. Join AAPACN Curriculum Development Specialist, Jessie McGill, RN, RAC-MT, RAC-MTA, in this 60-minute webinar to enhance the nurse assessment coordinator’s (NAC’s) understanding of physician certification technical requirements. NACs will also gain best practices to shore up their facility’s process.

After participating in this session, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the technical requirements and identify resources for physician certification and recertifications
  • Summarize the timing requirements of physician certification and recertifications and how to address noncompliance
  • Develop a process to manage physician certifications based on best practices

1.0 contact hour will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity. Learners must view at least 80% of the entire video and complete the associated evaluation to receive the contact hours. No partial credit will be awarded. Contact hours will be awarded for this activity until August 10, 2025.
