The alphabet soup of the Medicare beneficiary notices initiative (BNI) recently got a new recipe, and understanding these changes is critical for skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). With recent updates impacting the SNF ABN (Skilled Nursing Facility Advance Beneficiary Notice), NOMNC (Notice of Medicare Non-Coverage), and DENC (Detailed Explanation of Non-Coverage), facility teams risk serving up noncompliance, financial losses, and provider liability if the updated notices and instructions aren’t properly implemented. During this 75-minute webinar, AAPACN Curriculum Development Specialist, Jennifer LaBay, RN, RAC-MT, RAC-MTA, QCP, CRC, will clarify the recent updates to the beneficiary notices and their instructions to assist facilities in demystifying the latest changes and turn the Medicare beneficiary notice alphabet soup into a clear and manageable recipe for success.
After participating in this session, learners will be able to:
- Identify the proper notice to use and when to use it
- Implement the latest instructions for each notice
- Understand how to correctly issue and document each notice
- Gain actionable insights to ensure compliance and avoid common pitfalls
