RAC-CT Course - Care Planning and the MDS 3.0
Upon completion of Care Planning and the MDS 3.0, the participant will be able to:
- Describe the relationship between the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, the care plan, and quality resident care
- Discuss the relationship between the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Triggers (CATs), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and the care plan
- Delineate the changes to comprehensive person-centered care planning regulations based on the revised Requirements of Participation
- List the components of an effective care plan
- Discuss the role of critical thinking in the care-planning process
- Describe the impact of communication as part of the care-planning process
- Identify the required components of the baseline care plan

5.73 contact hours will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity. Learners must complete the entire education activity and associated evaluation to receive the contact hours. No partial credit will be awarded. Contact hours will be awarded for this activity until October 17, 2027.
