Section G Essentials for the Optional State Assessment

AAPACN’s Section G Essentials for the Optional State Assessment on-demand workshop provides supplemental education on section G late-loss ADLs for states requiring the Optional State Assessment (OSA). Beginning Oct. 1, 2023, states requiring OSA will continue to code bed mobility, transfer, eating, and toileting activities of daily living (ADLs). This on-demand workshop provides line-by-line instructions for these section G late-loss ADLs to accurately code the MDS using the coding instructions and the Rule of Three.

1.0 contact hour will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity. Learners must view at least 80% of the entire video and complete the associated evaluation to receive the contact hours. No partial credit will be awarded. Contact hours will be awarded for this activity until June 30, 2026.
